Johnson County Council Incumbant

Melinda’s Priorities

  • Law and Order
  • Infrastructure and Small Business Support
  • Building and Planning
  • Being fiscally conservative while making Johnson County the capital of economic development

Melinda Griesemer is the only county council candidate with front line experience in the county opioid crisis with experience working in Johnson County’s local substance abuse hospital and rehabilitation centers. Substance abuse disorders and mental health issues cause a strain on law enforcement, families and Johnson County employers. Melinda is committed to working to reduce these issues for Johnson County. She will also be proactive in addressing the pressing needs in our county caused by the increased traffic from the I-69 expansion.

In the primary election for 2020, Melinda was elected as Precinct Committeeman for White River 29 and elected as a GOP Convention Delegate.

About Melinda

Melinda Griesemer grew up as a south-sider and has lived in Johnson County for 25 years. Melinda graduated from Purdue University, with degrees in Finance and Nursing. She put her degrees to use as the owner of Indianapolis Medical Consulting.

Having been raised in a family of entrepreneurs, Melinda has been self-employed since 2008 and is the owner of Indianapolis Medical Consulting. She has enjoyed being able to create a business and grow it from the ground up to where it is today. Indianapolis Medical Consulting serves all of Indiana and is hired as the “go-to source” by insurance companies and families. Many out-of-state insurance companies have hired Indianapolis Medical Consulting to act as their local representative to medically manage Indiana workman’s compensation claims. Individuals and families also consult with Indianapolis Medical Consulting to help them navigate the health care system and the laws governing their workman’s compensation claims. Melinda’s company also represents families who need assistance placing family members in skilled medical facilities.

Melinda understands the success and difficulties of being self-employed. The self-employment payroll tax is burdensome for businesses and Melinda knows this from personal experience. She is a high-energy,  hands-on, ground-floor director, who relates to the front-line worker as well as being a final decision maker. The balancing act of running a business is challenging, but very rewarding and Melinda is anxious to help all businesses get back to where things were before COVID-19.

Melinda is a Registered Nurse and has volunteered her time and talents to several local nonprofit organizations. Melinda is pictured here with other volunteers at St. Thomas Medical Clinic in Franklin, a non-profit which serves the uninsured in Johnson County.

Melinda is a member of the NRA, the leader of the Johnson County Indiana Conservatives, a member of the Johnson County Republican Women and is also an active member of the Mary Bryan Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Melinda’s Family

Melinda’s great, great, great, great grandfather fought with George Washington on Christmas night in 1776. He crossed the Delaware river with Washington to fight the Hessian garrison of 1500 soldiers in Trenton, New Jersey. The ‘Crossing of the Delaware’ was the turning point of the Revolutionary War.

Melinda’s daughter, Monica, was a cheerleader at Center Grove High School and graduated with her Associates degree from the Early College program in 2016. Monica is currently working on her Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is married to Nathan Turner.

Like all of Melinda’s family, Monica loves to shoot and going to the range is a family activity.

About Melinda

Johnson County has great schools, great businesses, a great location, and, most important, great people!
